What this calculator does not cover. It covers core faraid including ‘awl, radd and asabah heirs. It does not account for harta sepencarian claims, a will, a gift (hibah), the deceased’s debts, or wasiat wajibah for a grandchild whose father died first. Cases involving any of these — such as Case 4 and Case 5 in my articles — need to be checked individually.

How It Works

Three stages of calculation

Fixed Shares

The ashab al-furud — husband, wife, mother, father, daughters and others — receive their prescribed fixed shares.

Residue to Asabah

What remains goes to the asabah heirs in order of priority, with a male taking twice a female’s share.

‘Awl or Radd

If the shares exceed the whole, every share is scaled down (‘awl). If they fall short and there is no asabah heir, the surplus returns to the sharers (radd).
